| Greg King was born in Dayton Ohio to a musical family. Starting out with trumpet in the school band, he was elected to the school honors band to play at the U.D. Arena. As a teenager he decided to exchange the trumpet for the bass guitar. Moving to Minnesota in the early eighties, he started playing drums as well as bass in the top forties bands in the Twin Cities area. While in Los Angeles, he hooked up with the Drifters and toured across the United States. He later turned to writing original material and playing with various rock bands throughout the eighties. | | | Back on the West Coast, he then started playing the blues circuit in California at various biker functions and blues festivals such as Sacramento, Oakland, Monterey and Reno. Opening for B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Buddy Guy, Chuck Berry, Eric Burden, Honey Boy Edwards, Booker T. & the MGs among others. He also played the California State Fair several years running. He later returned to the Rock N Roll scene and started opening for bands such as Pablo Cruise, Joe Cocker, Sammy Hagar, The Guess Who and Rare Earth to name a few. Greg also played in the band Stoneground for their Back with a Vengence album, performed with Pablo Cruise on their 2004 reunion and played with Bo Didley. Known throughout the greater Sacramento and surrounding areas for his wide versatility in both blues and rock on the bass and vocals, Greg is now one of the founding members of The Revolving Doors. | | Influences: - Cream
